  1. We can thank this album for the Raconteurs existing. Three of the four are in this band, and Brendan produced the record. The next year Broken Boy Soldiers was out

  2. This song, and the album from which it Is taken, are masterpieces. In fact, I will go one step further. This is an unassailable peak of human culture

  3. I grew up listening to Country music, with my 5 siblings, we never missed a Grand old Opry show. My father worked in a sawmill making$90.00 a week, and at age 9, I started working cleaning the homes of those who had money. I had to take care of the baby, so she went with me to my jobs. Our Country roots ran deep, with my father being from West Virginia. However the roots didn't start there. They were originally from the Blackfoot Indian Reservation, in North Dakota. I had the pleasure of seeing, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, and Kris Kristofferson, live. However, I have never had a chance to see Loretta Lynn live, and only hope she comes close enough to where I live to be able to see her perform live. I am now raising my 25th child. He has brain damage from the drugs his mama thought were more important than the life she was carrying inside her. On the upside, he is a genius. At the ripe old age of 5, he hacked into the school computer system, and was playing pacman. He is now 6yrs old, suffers from Autism, ADHD, epilepsy, and can't speak properly. However, he is the happiest, most loving child I have ever seen. He absolutely loves Loretta Lynn's Christmas song, "To Heck with old Santa Claus". I'm waiting and hoping to get him,and myself to see her perform live… What an incredible woman. I absolutely love her, and her love of the country, and life itself…

  4. As a BIG Loretta Lynn fan, I was apprehensive when I heard that Jack White was going to produce and do a duet with the iconic Loretta Lynn.  But the outcome is a masterpiece…all of the critics and awards shows agree because the release was a huge hit.

  5. This song is what made me fall in love with the music of Jack White. I had heard his White Stripes singles and whatnot, but when I heard this, Jack collaborating with a legendary musician and feeling right at home, I realized he was more than just a run of the mill rock star. He's really something special. On a side note, his voice was at its prime here.

  6. Oh Jack……………PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE come to Portland, Oregon ! I want to see you live so badly !  🙂

  7. Saw her in concert in Kentucky a few yrs back.  Sadly there were no Van Lear Rose songs in the set, but still an outstanding evening.
