Performed and filmed at Pink Martini’s World Headquarters in Portland, Oregon, in September 2020, while the band was unable to tour due to the pandemic. “Una notte a Napoli” featuring lead singer China Forbes, is one of the band’s most popular original songs, first heard on the album “Hang on Little Tomato.” The song was written by bandleader Thomas Lauderdale, China Forbes, and their friends Johnny Dynell and Alba Clemente, in Italian, and has also been released, in a Spanish cover version by Santana, on their album “Corazón” (as “Una Noche en Nápoles”).This version features Thomas Lauderdale on piano, China Forbes on vocals, Nicholas Crosa on violin, and Gavin Bondy on trumpet.
