what you MUST KNOW before moving to Portland, Oregon! people, weather, getting a job, and more…

Hi! I have gotten a lot of questions about Portland, why I am leaving, what I love about, and truly what living here is like so I wanted to sum it all up in a video for you.

10:14 NATURAL BEAUTY IN OREGON

23:23 POPULATION GROWTH, OREGONIAN ATTITUDE TOWARD PEOPLE MOVING HERE (especially to Portland)

I know A LOT of people are interested in Portland and Oregon at large so I hope this video was helpful if you’re considering moving here. It’s a city well-known for the quirky people of Portlandia and bad weather, but not much else nationally. I hope this video gives you the information you need to decide about a move (but try to visit first!) or simply better enjoy your Oregon vacation. I didn’t touch on cost-of-living in this video because it is so subjective and Portland may be way more expensive or way cheaper than where you are moving from. I like using websites like and Smart Asset to compare cost of living between cities.

If this helps you, please give the video a like and feel free to subscribe to the channel for other videos 🙂 love ya!

  1. Liberal haven ???? Liberals are the most racist people on the planet . Who founded the KKK Democratics and who didn't want Civil rights Democratics . Stupid people can't do research. I live near little Rock Arkansas and we don't care about what happened 100 years ago .

  2. Don't move here. Jobs are low pay and taxes are high. You will be poor. That is why there are so many people on the street!

  3. Before moving to Portland, you MUST know that is a city of homeless!! and tons of trash all over!!

  4. I was a long time time resident of Portland and left in 2012. My reasons were completely based on the extreme decline in the environment of Portland. Portland was until I'd say the early 2000's a clean and affordable city for the West Coast. It was actually liberal. It was a together Progressive and inviting place to live. Then mobs of people started pouring in and far to many were educated, but had no hopes of finding employment. Reason being as you mentioned lack of employers. Then the Radials started showing up and homeless that seemed to be falling from the sky. More and more garbage and litter on the streets. It was gradual at first and then accelerated. Yet the income and Property taxes were very high, and the city was not being properly run at all. Yet the residents didn't seem to care. The politicians didn't seem to care at all. So I could see the writing on the wall with Portland and its future looked dim. So I decided to leave. Now look at Portland it is a mess of tents, garbage, filth, Liberal became Radicalism. Its riots, protests, smashing windows, hitting people. Outrageous cost for housing. Its making the news all over the world. That's what Portland has become nothing to be proud of. I don't blame anyone for leaving, but I wonder does anyone even notice anything about Portland besides it rains.

  5. Not the best city, hopefully it can clean itself up the next few years, there are definitely worse cities in the US..

  6. I'll sum it up. A good amount of the residents here are STUPID and do nothing but bitch about our Governor and all that she did to try and keep people safe during the pandemic. The weather is NOT temperate, it's hot as blazes in the summer. The only seasons that are tolerable are spring and fall. The housing prices are getting ridiculously high. You have to have two incomes to afford rent. Which is why we have a high homeless population, which people also bitch about, instead of doing a few simple things that would help solve the issue.

  7. You do NOT need an Oregon driver's license to buy a car in Oregon. Just pay your relevant state sales tax.

  8. Seriously? If told I had to move to Portland I'd commit a white collar crime. I'd rather be in a Federal Penitentiary than live in Portland with its streets full of homeless people, human feces, and used syringes. And you have to wonder about the average citizens intelligence who voted for these woke-jokes to run their city.

  9. Kenzie, thank you so much for taking the time to share this informative video. I too, am liberal and progressive and love diversity.
I appreciate all the points you highlighted.
I'm a California native and love the stunning beauty of the PNW. As you said, do your research and perhaps.. most definitely just visit if some things as you mentioned – aren't going to suit your lifestyle
Hope you're doing well wherever you moved to! ❤✌🏽

  10. I just moved here. And I have been stressing…
I bought my first home. It seems like I'll be alone here. I like the ladies but some really don't care about anything.

  11. If Portland was a beautiful city that attracted wholesome families to go live in, it's no longer that. Now it's Los Angeles 2.0. With all the horrible Californian post-modern trends that make something that used to resemble a town/city uninhabitable and overpopulated. It's like witnessing a beautiful forest transformed into a festering puss-dripping ulcer. Portland only has beautiful 20th century architecture in it's residential neighborhoods because Western people's made it so. Portland only has hospitals and schools because Western people's made it so. But now in 2021, Portland is almost entirely filled with those who do not appreciate Western civilization's contributions. Almost to the degree where they openly celebrate the usurped host culture as it's overrun and defiled by the gang-culture and pop-culture bullcrap sent here by California's bottomless pit of desecration.

  12. I’m thinking about moving from Denver and this was very informative so thank-you 😄. Ps you should consider filming some ASMR videos your have a very nice, calm voice. Sorry that was random 😅

  13. Any state with no taxes…really….oh yeah for a 100k home cost 5k a year on taxes, just like florida and texas

  14. Side note here. Move here and enjoy a homicide or some kind of gun violence daily. Downtown Portland!! Hot Zone!!!! FOR PROTESTORS. What a fun place to be and oh yes enjoy all the camps and garbage alllllll over the place.
